This is the first book in the series I have read. A slow burn between Penny and Dr Barnes had me craving to read more, but also had me wanting to throw the whole thing away lol. The tension I felt between these two made me want to yell at Penny to just give Barnes a chance! But her dedication to the game was so understandable that I couldn’t be mad at her for long! The ending…the ending was such a twist I can NOT wait for the second book to come out!

I’m so excited that this author has jumped back into the Las Vegas Angels world again. These couples are fun, cute and can really bring on the steam. Penny and Barnes do the same and I am in love with them. This meet cute is unlike any I’ve read before and had me hooting as it moved forward from their initial interaction. This is a fast read with a bit of a slow burn and high attraction.

Another gripping and make you smile book that is part of Ms. York's Laws Vegas Angles hockey series. Puck Worthy is book seven but the first book in the Penny and Dr, Barnes duet. Penny is a focused hockey player looking to play at the Olympics and has no time for men or a relationship. The one thing she does have is her side job/hobby that she has to keep a secret. In walks, or should I say skates, Dr. Barnes, the town's new vet, and all hell breaks loose.

About the author

Jessa lives in a very non-descript, unassuming town filled with the best kind of people. Most days, she can be found in the stands of various soccer fields, cheering on her Youngest, or discussing books with her Oldest (who is an English Honors student).

At night, if she's not up burning the midnight oil, Jessa enjoys snuggling up to her real-life chef hubby and watching his latest pick for a cheesy romance movie. He always chooses the best ones. (after he cooks supper, of course).
