Derek thought he would never find his fated mate, but she appears and the sparks ignite. The characters are well done, with great backstories and intense feelings. The storyline has drama, surprises, danger, twists, an ex causing problems, low self esteem to change and lots of steam. Loved how gentle and caring Derek was and the world opens up to them. Really rooted for her to come out stronger and more open. Great ending. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I enjoyed this new "White Mountain Chanat" story! I really enjoyed Laurelynn and Derek's story. It's an older couple and fated mates story. She was in a bad marriage for twenty years now she is away from her ex. Derek has heard of fated mates but has given up that he will ever find his. When he sees her, he knows she is his, convincing her is another thing altogether. Laurelynn and Derek had a lot to get through to find happiness; including an ex who wants her back. The plot is a roller coaster of emotions as well as intriguing and very captivating story. The story is well written and a nicely developed plot.

I've read a lot of books written by Melissa Stevens; she is one of my favorite authors. I can’t wait to read more of her books. This is the fifth book in the White Mountain Chanat Series; it is a stand-alone book. The story is about Laurelynn & Derek; after twenty years in an arranged marriage she’s finally free, she’s divorced and has a relationship with her kids and grandkids. Derek has given up on finding his mate until he meets her; he knows it will take time to convince her but when her ex shows up wanting her back he knows he can’t wait he has to convince her now.
