Cynthia is a typical affluent raised southern belle, raised to marry and little else. Her parents are emotionally distant, father overbearing and the book opens with her getting ready to go to the wedding of her ex fiance and the woman he chose over her; despite her creating problems the pair are happy she is attending and the ladies are now friends. Chris is black, has a secret obsession, middle class chef and restaurant owner, living in Hawaii..best man and is instantly drawn to Cynthia. Each are encouraged to step out of their comfort zones in regards to behaviours, meeting some time after. Chris introduces her to the BDSM 'lifestyle' slowly and they make the perfect pairing, further extended when he wants to share her with his friend, intrusive whilst willing was pushed into it. The Max and Anna friendship was intrusive. Found certain aspects did not really seem to fit as it was too contrived, but was good to see Cynthia develop her self esteem and stand up to her parents

This is the 2nd book in The Original Harmless Five featuring the steamy emotional romance between Chris and Cynthia. Cynthia dumped her fiance Max and her father disowned her. However she still attends Max's wedding and that's where she meets Chris Max's college roommate. They instantly click and this leads to a night that they'll never forget. However Chris is scarred and wary after after his last relationship went bad over a year ago he doesn't even think of dating. Until he meets Cynthia who he shows a whole new side of himself to and he gently helps her along on her transformative journey and he learned how to love again. You really need to read this steamy emotional romance to see what happens. I would definitely recommend reading this book. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Oh wow this was a spicy romance read Chris and Cynthia had instant attraction but with him being there only for their friends wedding and her finding herself homeless doesn’t look like they would get together. But when liquid courage gives her the push she needed she discovers a side of herself that she didn’t know she need. I love this genres, I don’t typically read much of this subject but I was pleasantly surprise how much I love watching the characters grow into her self worth.

About the author

From an early age, USA Today Bestselling author Melissa loved to read. First, it was the books her mother read to her including her two favorites, Winnie the Pooh and the Beatrix Potter books. She cut her preteen teeth on Trixie Belden and read and reviewed To Kill a Mockingbird in middle school. It wasn’t until she was in college that she tried to write her first stories, which were full of angst and pain, and really not that fun to read or write. After trying several different genres, she found romance in a Linda Howard book.

Since her first published book, Grace Under Pressure, Mel has had over 60 short stories, novellas, and novels published. She has written in genres ranging from historical to contemporary to futuristic and has worked with 8 publishers although she handles most of her publishing herself. She is best known for her Harmless and Santini series.

After years of following her military husband around the country and world, Mel happily lives with her family in horse and wine country in Northern Virginia.
