Solid 4.5 star Oh lordy I don't think I have ever known a more stubborn woman than Katy, even when she is wrong that girl does not want to admit it lol fortunately Pierce is addicted to her as she is to him. Katy's nana has never forgiven the Kensington family after something that happened to her many years ago and made sure that Katy felt the same way about the family after she first met Pierce, this has led to a fiery relationship between the two where every now and then Katy allows herself to fall for Pierce before going right back to hating him which I find hilarious. But now there has been a murder and Pierce knows Katy will want to solve it and this leads them both on the path to either finally admit how they both feel and be together or for them to both finally decide they need to walk away which may even mean moving to another city! There are loads of laughs, lots of verbal sparring, a bit of danger and some loss as well as off the charts attraction between two people I just want to shake some sense into and has you wondering if they really will end up together or if they will push each other to the point of no turning back. This is book 2 in the Pelican Bay series and we get to see what crazy Katy is up to next. She has made a life out of being a pain in Pierce’s side because of something that happened between their families a long time ago. Pierce is a millionaire who means well but everything he does Katy fights him tooth and nail. He and Katy meet in grade school and it was such sweet and cute way they met but once Katy’s grandmother caught wind of their friendship things changed. The push and pull between these two is hilarious but the chemistry between them is super-hot. Loved this book and the journey of crazy Katy and sweet Pierce. Pierce is going to give a relationship with Katy just one more chance. He has tried so many times over the years to show her he loves her but due to her grandmothers hatred for his grandfather after he dumped her, Katy is not receptive. Added to their battle of wills, there is a murder to solve and plenty of hijinks. Loved the storyline but wanted to bop Katy over the head more than a few times. Twists and surprises, along with plenty of drama and romance keep the pages turning. The mystery was entertaining and well done. Great ending.
