A truly emotional journey. The twists & turns will keep you thoroughly engaged in this intriguingly suspenseful & compelling tale. When you reach the surprising climax, it may just blow your mind, making this more of an exciting & captivating read. If the enjoyment of reading this story isn’t enough to tantalize you to keep reading the series (which I know it absolutely will be), the added intriguing hints to Max Prescott’s story will certainly draw you toward the next book for sure.

This is book three in The Guardian's series and it is Ellie and Sean's story. Ellie had her son kidnapped and he was murdered and she goes to find his killer and when she heard a cry for help and jumped into the water to save the boys life and then she walked away as she had her own problems and demons to deal with and she didn't want anyone else around her. Sean's wife died of cancer and he vowed never to fall in love again and while working his son Mick who was his who life fell into the water and it was a woman that pulled him out and saved his life and even though he said thank you and how grateful he was he couldn't believe that she just walked away. When Ellie and Sean realised that they will both have to work together to find and retrieve a very valuable and rare necklace and paintings neither are very pleased especially with the strong connection and between them but they decide to complete there work and then move on with their lives and ignore how they feel as they are both on a mission and also broken because of the people that they have loved and lost but things don't always go as planned. There are many twists and turns along with danger, betrayal, kidnapping, loss, pain, revenge, hope, a second chance and emotional situations that have you in tears. This book had you on the edge of your seat and I couldn't put it down as I had to keep turning the pages to see what would happen next and it was so addictive. Hope Anika is an amazing author and writer and I definitely recommend you read this book,series and other books by her and you will definitely not be disappointed and I look forward to many more of her books in the future. Love, love, love this book. It is totally worth the wait and is such a satisfying conclusion to Sean's story. I still wish we could have more interaction with the other characters - maybe the author will do a let bit of a reunion novella at Rafe's wedding. Us readers who are addicted to epilogues can only dream. I seriously hope the next story is on Max and is in New Orleans - the bayou added an extra element of menace and atmosphere to the books.
