Kiss My Cupcake: a delicious romcom from the bestselling author of Meet Cute

Very cutesy and a nice easy read. Overall I found that it didn't captivate me all that much and I didn't find myself rushing back to the book to continue reading but with that being said the characters are likeable, the story is sweet and there is a few moments of sexy.

Kiss My Cupcake is such fun, adorable, cute and smexy with a helping of sass to top it off. Blaire is an amazing character; cute and sassy with her own unique style and vision. She is surprisingly well-adjusted considering her family background. If you think you’re family is messed up wait until you get a load of Blaire’s. Stubbornly independent, Blaire is determined to see her charming cake/cocktail shop succeed. What she doesn’t count on is competition in the form of axe throwing in the neighbourhood bar next door to her shop. Ronan is stunning and hilarious with a mischievous sense of humour. Another character with a unique sense of style, plaid has never been so appealing! Taking over the running of his grandfather’s bar in order to update it and make his dream of opening a brewery a reality, Ronan is equally determined to succeed as Blaire. Despite their obvious attraction, Blaire and Ronan wage a battle for the title of Best Bar when a famous influencer hosts a competition. However, they are forced to work together when a large chain restaurant moves into the neighbourhood. Their collaboration and initiative bring Blaire and Ronan closer together in more ways than one. With the best bar competition heating up how will the budding relationship between Blaire and Ronan survive, especially as they both have their own emotional baggage clouding their judgement! This book was exactly what I needed! It ticked all the boxes and gave me such a high on a bleak week. There really wasn’t anything not to love about it. I’m not a fan of overstated angst, I’m all for the romcom and sweet romances. From the first chapter we get an overall feeling of what the book is about. I wouldn’t go as far to say it’s an enemies to lovers romance, but it got close. They have a disagreement over renovations, which starts off the delightful banter between them. Blaire is smart, beautiful and driven, and she has a 50’s fetish that was born indirectly from her quirky family. She is the proud owner of her own cupcake and booze cafe. What she doesn’t need on her opening week is a plaid hipster that is running the bar next door. Ronan definitely was a distraction, what with the good looks, arm candy and tattoos, but he was exceptionally loyal and even though he’d never admit it, he was a romantic at heart. There were so many funny moments with this book that had me either smiling like a goon or snorting along with their spiritedness. Her family were unique and worrisome all mixed together but really only had her best interest deep down. I also loved the way Ronan’s brothers gave him schtick too. I could appreciate Blaire’s sleep deprived mind going places when Ronan was busy else where, and grateful it didn’t go down a melodramatic path. It made for a more pleasing conclusion and kept to their characters. I adored the epilogue and felt we got their happily forever after they deserved because, who says you can’t find true love at the bottom of a martini glass? Now if I can only find a place that will serve one up with a cupcake to go with it.
