About this ebook

Treat yourself to an 'outrageously sexy' (Entertainment Weekly), 'fabulously fun' (Jill Shalvis) second-chance romance from the New York Times bestselling queen of hockey romance!

Lilah isn't sure what hurt worse: the day Ethan left her to focus on his hockey career or the day he came back eight years later. He might think they can pick up just where they left off, but she's no longer that same girl and never wants to be again.

Ethan wants his glory days back. And that includes having Lilah by his side. With her, he was magic. They were magic. All he has to do is make her see that.

Just when Lilah might finally be ready to let Ethan in, though, she finds out their reunion might have nothing to do with love and everything to do with improving his game. But Ethan's already lost her once, and even if it costs him his career, he'll do anything to keep from losing her again . . .

The Good Luck Charm surprised me with the depth of the characters; not only does it involve one heck of a second-chance romance but it also delves into the aspects of identity and how it is shaped by our life events especially those of the negative variety. Regret is a powerful demon to live with and it can affect the way in which you conduct all aspects of your life without even realizing it. Which is exactly the situation Ethan faces when he returns to his hometown after eight years away. Following the break-up with his high school girlfriend, Delilah, Ethan’s sports career has taken a nose-dive. He has one more season to make an impression or he could find himself retired before he is 30. His original plan had been to play for his hometown but circumstances dictated otherwise, now he is where he should always have been but without the one person he has compared everyone else to, Lilah. Ethan’s break-up with Lilah completely crushed her, so much so that she never fully recovered from it and has kept her heart safely locked away even during her marriage. I felt sorry for all the parties concerned where Lilah’s failed relationship was concerned however, the heart wants what it wants and in Lilah’s case no-one else can make her feel as much as Ethan. Connected by a family emergency, Ethan and Lilah have to work through all of their emotional baggage in order to move on with or without the other. The Good Luck Charm shows how easy it is to lose yourself in someone else especially when you are nurturer by nature. Fear will ultimately undermine any happiness you are trying to achieve. The most important lessons both Ethan and Lilah have to learn are recognising their independence is necessary to a healthy, thriving relationship. Letting go of their fears and embracing the present, will lead to a brighter future 💕

5 star Review The Good Luck Charm by Helena Hunting This is a second chance at love story, a genre I have come to enjoy more and more this year. I love Ms. Hunting's style of writing, she ensures that her characters are not “perfect”. I was entertained and captivated from the start. Ethan Kane left Lilah 8 years ago to pursue his hockey dream, yet now he has returned, determined to win her back at any cost. Will Lilah be open to rekindling their romance? This was a solid romance with angst, passion and a great deal of emotion. Ethan and Lilah’s passion, friendship with years of knowing and loving each other easily translates onto the page. . The Good Luck Charm is a story of redemption, of love and commitment, of forgiveness, of taking a chance and knowing that when it is right, it is right. The drama and conflict were offset by humour and steamy scenes. As I have come to expect from a novel from Helena Hunting it was extremely well written with strong and relatable characters and was thoroughly enjoyable. Once click now I don’t think you will be disappointed. I received an ARC of this book through the publisher and Netgalley.
