सुमारे तीस-पस्तीस वर्षांपूर्वी मराठी लघुकथेला नवा बहर आला. जुनी चाकोरी सोडून धीट अशा काही नव्या वाटा पडल्या. या वाटांपैकी गावाकडील गोष्टी सांगणारी वाट सवघड. वर्तुळाच्या मध्यबिंदूपासून जेवढ्या त्रिज्या निघतात तेवढ्या वाटा असू शकतात, हे एका मिरासदारांनी ओळखले आणि स्वत:चीच अशी एक वाट पाडली. हरभऱ्याची आंब, रात्री कोवळ्या पिकावर फडके पसरून सकाळी धरता येते; पण पाणी दिलेल्या, कणसं, लोंब्या धरलेल्या उभ्या पिकांचा वास धरणे कठीण. मिरासदारांची शहामत अशी की, त्यांनी हा विनोद धरला आणि तोसुद्धा त्याच्या खास चवीसकट! उत्तम म्हणून गाजलेल्या मिरासदारांच्या कथांतून हा गावरान विनोद अगदी जसाच्या तसा आढळतो. हेच मिरासदारांचे अपूर्व असे यश आहे.A wonderful gift of 14 stories wrapped together, helping us to get relaxed and understand the minute qualities of a human mind as well.
