Acerca do autor

Karen Richardson was born in England and moved to Germany in her late 20s, where she has been living and working in the English language teaching (ELT) industry ever since. For the past 25+ years, she has been teaching English in companies, for local authorities, and at colleges and universities in Germany. She has written coursebooks, teachers’ guides, calendars, books for young learners, and a huge number of digital materials for large international publishers such as Macmillan Education, National Geographic Learning, and Pearson. She is the author of Fifty Ways to Practice Business English, and Dogs: our best friends, both published by Wayzgoose Press as well as How to Write Worksheets, published by ELT Teacher to Writer, and She currently writes for Business Spotlight and Spotlight, monthly magazines published by the newspaper group Die Zeit for German-speaking learners of business English and general English.

In the past, Karen has done many everyday jobs such as working in hotels, restaurants, bars and pubs. She has worked at concerts and festivals selling band merchandise, has been a spotlight operator on large music stages, and has worked the lighting board in small theatres. She has looked after young children as an au pair in Greece and in a kindergarten in London. She has worked in shops and at German Christmas markets and she has done voluntary work for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust, dog rescue charities, and for national and international teacher’s associations.
