This is the second time I am reading this book. First was on my kindle and after that I realized this book should be part of a tangible asset, and thus I purchased the paperback. The book meaning is so profound, it touches the very core of our existence. It provides subtle glimpses into the very Now which we as humans have lost touch with. It creates a sense that allows one to dissolve in the timeless Now thus releasing oneself from the shackles of time.

This is an excellent, eye opening book on making concrete changes to become more assertive in all aspects of your life. Too many of us fail to create boundaries in our lives, and this book clearly teaches how to do that. I really enjoyed the author's tone, which is one of acceptance and understanding. We all have ways that we can grow, and this book addresses many of those with tons of real world, actionable examples.

This is a respectable guide for becoming a stronger person with solid boundaries. Although Judy provides suitable information on managing assertiveness with a range of real world scenarios, I believe your problem, or mine for that matter, is not so much lack of knowledge about what to do, rather getting yourself to actually do it. You probably already know enough about assertiveness already, or improving other areas of your life for that matter, but for one reason or another you are not implementing it. This is one of the reasons I liked this book so much. Judy understands that just because you know what to do, doesn't mean that you will be able to go out into the world and do it, or do it easily. In that understanding, she provides, what I feel to be the best guidance on how to begin implementing assertiveness in your life. She dedicates a whole chapter titled “Making the Transition,” to help you act. I especially like the self-talk exercise she provides, as I’ve become a big proponent of self-talk over the years. If you want an assertiveness book that gets you to take action on your knowledge, this is the book for you.
