It was an ephemeral moment, an emotional spark that dragged me down the road of irrevocable decisions, those that are made only once in a lifetime and from which there is no turning back. In my life, I had already found myself in similar situations two other times, and knowing my character, I knew that I would never allow anyone to bring me back on my steps, like an extinguished cigarette that, once relit, loses its original flavor.
I had reached an age where I felt the need to recover what I had lost and foolishly dispersed, but my curse had found a new fertile ground on which to build malice and envy, to the advantage of those who preferred to live life in this way. My first moral commitment was to complete all the pending works; two months would have been enough, after which I would have retired to the seashore to listen to music and write what my kilo and a half of gray matter would have dictated to me.
I left behind many people I loved, some real, some figurative, some technological, but what I had sown and left as a legacy was a pleasant language, capable of capturing attention and eliciting a smile, almost creating automatism.
Many thanks to all of you, this is book 50, my special one, because the stories I will tell will be so similar that you will never find a trace of them anywhere else.
