One Last Summer

One Last Summer is a novella for the Plain Daisy Ranch series. I liked hearing about Ben and Gillian's past, I felt sad and frustrated for Gillian. Piper Rayne did a good job with this book, it's just enough to wet your appetite. It's so easy to like Ben and Gillian, they're sweet love story just made me heart melt.

Great novella! The novella on audio was narrated by CJ Bloom and Robert Hatchet. This is my first listen from Robert Hatchet but it won’t be my last. Great characterizations, and emotions portrayed. We are introduced to Gillian and Ben. Two highschool sweethearts that are faced with the reality that one will go away to college and one will stay behind. We see them spend the last of their summer break together. Loved this quick read. And, it was a quick and sassy introduction to this love story.

One Last Summer is a quick prequel to The One I Left Behind. It gives us a peek at Ben and Gillian before Ben left town for football. The book is easily read in an hour or so, and it lets us get a feel for just how good the chemistry is between this pair. Robert Hatchet and CJ Bloom do the narration, and in my opinion, Piper Rayne couldn't have chosen any better. It's duet narration, and I thoroughly enjoyed the listen.
