One Last Summer

One Last Summer is a quick prequel to The One I Left Behind. It gives us a peek at Ben and Gillian before Ben left town for football. The book is easily read in an hour or so, and it lets us get a feel for just how good the chemistry is between this pair. Robert Hatchet and CJ Bloom do the narration, and in my opinion, Piper Rayne couldn't have chosen any better. It's duet narration, and I thoroughly enjoyed the listen.

Great novella! The novella on audio was narrated by CJ Bloom and Robert Hatchet. This is my first listen from Robert Hatchet but it won’t be my last. Great characterizations, and emotions portrayed. We are introduced to Gillian and Ben. Two highschool sweethearts that are faced with the reality that one will go away to college and one will stay behind. We see them spend the last of their summer break together. Loved this quick read. And, it was a quick and sassy introduction to this love story.

Robert Hatchett and C.J. bloom did a great job bringing the characters and the story to life. The One I Left Behind is a quick novella giving us an introduction to the Plain Daisy Ranch. For me this is exactly what I want in a prequel just enough to leave me excited and wanting more. I’m predicting that Piper Rayne will certainly have another hit series with the residents and their partners from the Plain Daisy Ranch. Robert Hatchett and C.J. bloom did a great job bringing this book to life.
