About the author

Margery Williams was born in London in 1881. She moved with her family to the US in 1890 and there started a career as a writer at the age of nineteen. She wrote many stories for children, of which The Velveteen Rabbit is the most famous.

Jilly Bond is a British stage and screen actress. She has performed in theatres all over the British Isles and Germany, in plays by William Shakespeare, George Bernard Shaw, Oscar Wilde, Neil Simon and numerous other writers. Bond has worked extensively on radio (including the role of Bridget in The Archers) and has recorded hundreds of unabridged audiobooks (some award-winning). She has also appeared in TV series such as Doctors, Judge John Deed, Alistair McGowan's Big Impression, Comedy Nation and Channel 4's cult hit As If.
