It was catchy, to be sure, and AnnieLee wished for her beloved guitar for the twentieth time. For one thing, it wouldn’t have fit in her suitcase, and for another, it was already hung on Jeb’s Pawn’s wall. If she had one wish, it was that whoever bought Maybelle would take good care of her, aside from getting out of Texas. It was raining harder than she’d seen in years by this point.
