The Gemini app is an AI assistant. If you opt in to the Gemini app, it will replace your Google Assistant as the primary assistant on the phone. Some Google Assistant voice features aren't available through the Gemini app yet. You can switch back to Google Assistant in settings.
The Gemini app is available only on Android phones with 2 GB of RAM or more, running Android 10 and up.
This official app is free of charge. Gemini gives you direct access to Google’s best family of AI models on your phone so you can:
- Get help with writing, brainstorming, learning, and more
- Summarise and find quick info from Gmail or Google Drive
- Use text, voice, photos and your camera to get help in new ways
- Say “Hey Google” to ask Gemini for help with what’s on your phone screen
- Make plans with Google Maps and Google Flights
If you have access to Gemini Advanced it will be right here in the Gemini app.

doesnt play music, when I say: "hey Google, play me some music". It gives me a YouTube rundown of various types of music. When I say: "hey google, play me music through Spotify", it just says I can't help you with that. It was a feature in the old assistant so I don't understand why it wouldn't now. It's almost my main use of the assistant to play and control my music.

I love Google Gemini! It's a game-changer for multitasking, organization, and research. The interface is intuitive, and I can customize it to suit my needs. However, I've encountered one issue: the Live feature doesn't persist after restarting the app. I have to re-enable it every time. Despite this minor hiccup, Gemini has transformed my workflow. I'm eagerly awaiting an update to fix this issue. Overall, Gemini is an incredible tool!

The images are awesome. If it could spell correctly, it would get a better review. Words that I spell out correctly that I want to add as text never get spelled correctly in the generated image. That should be the easiest thing for AI to get right 100% of the time!! Also wish that if I like a particular image but want to enhance it even more, that it could take the last image generated and if I tell it to 'add snow to that image' that it would do just that. Instead it generates a new image.
