William Brownridge

William Roy ‘Bill’ Brownridge grew up disabled on the Canadian prairies during the Depression. He went on to become a renowned artist and the author of three best-selling children’s books – The Moccasin Goalie trilogy. Bill’s allegorical stories inhabit a simpler time of horses and farms, yet even then the challenges were great. Bill experienced that himself, as a kid, losing his leg to infection. Undeterred, Bill went on to art college. He graduated and has been a professional artist and writer ever since. His paintings and prints have been, and still are, on exhibition in museums and art galleries and private collections across Canada, the U.S. and Europe.
