Resve Saleh, Ph.D. (University of California, Berkeley), began his professional career working in a startup in 1979. He was Founder of 2 startups including Simplex Solutions where he served as CEO for one year, Vice President of Engineering for 3 years and Chairman of the Board of Directors for 5 years. Subsequently, he was involved in 6 startups as a consultant, advisor or investor. In his 10 years in industry, he worked at Mitel, Tektronix, Toshiba, Nortel and Cadence Design Systems. He served in academia for 20 years in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. Dr. Saleh was Assistant and Associate Professor at the University of Illinois, Visiting Professor at Stanford University and Full Professor at the University of British Columbia where he established the System-on-Chip Research Laboratory. He published 4 books and over 120 journal and conference papers, and was granted 1 patent. He received multiple awards and distinctions, including the prestigious Presidential Young Investigator Award (1989) and IEEE Fellow (2006).
