Muhammad Haji Salleh

Prof. Dr. Muhammad bin Haji Salleh is one of the Malaysian writers who was awarded the title of National Literary Officer in 1991. He also won the S.E.A. Writers Award in 1997. In 2008, he was named as a National Academic Figure.He was the President of the Malaysian Translators Association (1978-1982) and translated many Malay poems into English. He is also a member of the editorial board of the Southeast journal, a member of the Management Board of the Language and Literature Council, and a member of the National Literary Award Panel.
