Morton Middleditch was Chief Executive of the SPAR Food Group in the UK, retired in 2004 and wrote the 50 year history of SPAR in the UK, for whom he worked for 35 years. He had also represented the Independent Grocery Retailers in Trade Associations and was Chairman of the Association of Convenience stores and Deputy Chairman of the British Retail Consortium. He was given a Lifetime Achievement Award in the 2004 Retail Industry Awards. He moved from Hertfordshire to Exmouth, Devon and lives on the Exe Estuary. He wrote "Left for Dead" in 2007 and the sequel "Back for Revenge" in 2015. He is currently writing the third in the trilogy. A keen golfer, cyclist and occasional watercolourist, he loves to travel with his wife Barbara. His journeys in 2006 gave him the original Peruvian theme for "Left for Dead" and has been a recurring theme in his stories.
