Glenn Alan Cheney is a writer, translator, painter, editor, book designer, and photographer. He is the author of more than 30 books on such topics as the Pilgrims, Abraham Lincoln, cats, the end of the world, nuclear proliferation, Mohandas Gandhi, Brazil's Estrada Real, the Quilombo dos Palmares, Chernobyl, nuns, Central American politics, Amazonia, death and burial, incarceration, environmental issues, bees, and Swaziland. He has also written a few novels, hundreds of articles, scores of newspaper essays, and a book of poetry. He has translated ten books by classical Brazilian authors and edited several others. He lives in Hanover, Conn., where he has served in the government in various capacities.
