Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar

Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar (1891-1956) was an Indian lawyer, economist, social reformer, and political leader. He is most remembered for his work in the struggle for the rights of the Dalit (formerly untouchable) people of India. He was a major figure in the Indian independence movement, and was the principal architect of the Indian Constitution. He is also remembered for his work in promoting education and social reform, and for his campaign against the caste system.
