Cidney Swanson

Cidney Swanson writes unforgettable characters who are genuinely shocked to find themselves thrown into perilous Sci-Fi/Fantasy situations. Well, except for the heroine from Mars. Come on. How shocked could a Mars colonist be to find herself in Sci-Fi peril? After they get over their shock, her characters start kicking butt and taking names, and usually do some kissing along the way. Cidney’s complex plotting and character arcs have garnered a few nice awards, including Kirkus Reviews Best in Teen/YA 2012, an SCBWI Spark Honor Book award, a Kay Snow award, and the 2020 Good Story Grant. When she’s not placing her characters in peril, Cidney can be found obsessing over her neurodiverse-driven special interests (Disney history, Mars, and Shakespeare). Cidney writes full time, dividing her year between Oregon and Florida with her family and entirely too much rain.
