Chris Chibnall

Chris Chibnall is a British playwright, television writer and producer. He studied drama at St Mary's University College in Strawberry Hill, subsequently gaining an MA in Theatre and Film from the University of Sheffield. From 1996 to 1999 he worked as an administrator with the experimental theatre company Complicite, before leaving to become a full-time writer. Chibnall's first short play was produced as part of Contact Theatre's Young Playwright's Festival in 1988. He was Writer-in-Residence with GRiP Theatre Company, writing three full length plays, including Best Daze and Gaffer! and several short plays. Gaffer! was revived at Southwark Playhouse in 2004. His television credits include Born and Bred, Life on Mars, Doctor Who, Law & Order UK and he has been the lead writer and a producer on the series Torchwood.
