About the author

Dr Sapna Langyan is working as a scientist at ICAR-National Bureau of Plant Genetic Resources, New Delhi, India. She holds an experience of more than 11 years in agricultural research. She aims to contribute towards food and nutritional security of the world and alleviating malnutrition through research support. She has more than 30 research papers, book chapters, conference proceedings and many others in reputed national and international journals and also holds editorship of many reputed journals including Frontiers. She has also edited one book on ‘Maize: Nutrition dynamics and novel uses’. She has been awarded many prestigious awards, fellowship and grants throughout her research career by premier science academies and by the Govt. of India.

Dr. Ashok Kumar is presently working as Director, ICAR-National Bureau of Plant Genetic Resources, New Delhi. He has served as Head, Division of Germplasm Evaluation, ICAR-NBPGR, New Delhi. He is also coordinating Network Project on “Leveraging genetic resources for accelerated genetic improvement of linseed using comprehensive genomics and phenotyping approaches under Mission Programme on “Minor Oilseeds of Indian Origin sponsored by Department of Biotechnology, Government of India. He has long working experience of more than 35 years with various aspects of plant genetic resources management. Under Professional Enhancement Programme on Plant Genetic Resources, he has visited USA under Indo US-USAID Project. He has more than 150 publications comprising research papers in national and international journals, book, book chapters, training manuals, invited lectures, extended summaries, abstracts etc., to his credit. In addition, he has participated and presented papers in national and international seminars, symposia, conferences etc.
