Il rapporto dell’Indice Globale della Fame (Global Hunger Index, abbreviato in GHI) 2016 – al suo undicesimo anno – presenta una misurazione multidimensionale della fame a livello nazionale, regionale e mondiale. Il rapporto mostra come siano stati compiuti dei progressi nella riduzione della fame rispetto al 2000, ma ci sia ancora molto da fare: i livelli di fame restano gravi o allarmanti in 50 paesi. Il rapporto introduce anche il nuovo paradigma di sviluppo internazionale proposto nell’Agenda 2030 per lo Sviluppo Sostenibile delle Nazioni Unite, che prevede l’eliminazione della fame entro il 2030 come uno dei 17 obiettivi raccolti in un piano olistico, integrato e trasformativo per il mondo.
