Things happen to the characters. They don't drive anything. The few choices they do make are not in keeping with the character or common sense. I suspect usual fans would agree that this is sub par. I didn't realise this was the second in a series, not the last either. Not sure if a third has been written. Perhaps reading the first (Revenger) would have made this better, but it would not have been by much if at all.

after the enjoyable first book, this one is quite a letdown. not much content/plot at all. most of the time the main characters just argue what to do next and why - and then fxxx up anyway ...

Enjoyable space pirate story. Quite different from the author's epic space opera, but has some of the same feeling nonetheless.
