The Pickwick Papers or also known as The Posthumous Papers of the Pickwick Club is the first novel written by Charles Dickens. The novel's main character, Samuel Pickwick, Esquire is a wealthy old gentleman, as well as founder and president of the Pickwick Club. Pickwick proposes that he and three other members of his club journey to remote areas away from London and report on their findings to the other members of the club. This novel is a collection of their discoveries throughout the English countryside.
