This prequel provides the backstory on Alex and Cat. Their story is fueled with angst and drama. But their romance is filled with chemistry, and passion. This explains why Alex and Cat started off as they did in Irresistible in a Kilt.

I loved reading the story of about how Cat and Alex met. It was steamy, exciting and answered some of my questions about their past. Alex has a dark past but Cat is relentless in her pursuit of him. Their chemistry was off the charts and after reading this prequel to Irresistible in a Kilt, I want to go back and read it again. A really awesome and steamy prequel. Love this whole series!. Alex and Cat are one of my favorite couples from the Hot Scots series, but their beginning has always been a bit murky. They reference their two year relationship in Irresistible in a Kilt, but I had several questions about why Cat had loved him so much back then. With this new prequel, now my questions are answered, and I totally get it. I really enjoyed reading about Alex during those days from both Cat's and Alex's POVs. Having read about Alex's childhood in Irresistible, I really felt sorry for him while he set himself up to fail. I also understood more about why Cat was so angry but also able to forgive him eventually. This prequel adds a lot to the story and makes me love them even more. The audiobook is very good, too. The narrators do a fantastic job of voicing Alex and Cat in their younger selves.
