None of these achievements would have been possible but for that devotion to learning and education which has characterised those peoples throughout their history; men and women who obeyed implicitly their Prophet’s command. “Seek after knowledge even if it be in China”. To investigate and describe the educational systems established in Islam is therefore obviously a most important and interesting task.
