I've been reading a lot of romance novels over the past several months and I have to say that this is by far one of the best ones that I have read. While I found Emily a little annoying at times, Gavin, IMO was perfect (well as much as a ficitonal character can be). Okay well maybe perfect is a stretch, but there were more redeeming parts of him than there were annoying. He was well written, relatable and believeable as a character. I enjoyed that I didn't feel as though he was obscenely rich and more importantly that he didn't impose any of that upon Emily. The only time that I was truly confused by him was during the intimate scenes, maybe that made him more "schmexy" but it was as though he was tettering on the edge of more, but just just wasn't quite getting there. Emily I have mixed feelings about, she was a decent enough character, but I wasn't rooting for her at anytime. I was just waiting until the next moment when Gavin would come alive on the pages again. Olivia was more enjoyable as a character, just so funny and blunt. That is someone I would really like to read more about. Overall I enjoyed the banter that Emily and Gavin had, for the most part it was witty. When they gushed about how much they loved each other, there were a few moments where I would just read quickly through it, because it was getting a little much for me. It's not that I didn't enjoy reading it, it just felt felt forced at times and being shoved down my throat. I would definitely read this series again. I love when a book can both make me laugh and cry. I can only hope that Gail McHugh has it in her to write one more story.

I loved Collide but not Pulse, unfortunately. Thankfully Gavin and the supporting characters remained solid from book 1 to 2. Emily's character started off strong in Collide but her character in Pulse was extremely needy (mentally and emotionally) to the point of being annoying. One minute she's the victim, crying and losing control over the simplest thing and the next minute, she's this strong sex-crazed woman. It just wasn't consistent. Overall Pulse could have more streamlined, it needed more substance.

I enjoyed these books even the spinner the nightmare (lol, almost stop reading thinking the dream was real, lol) but was a awesome series.
