About this ebook

"In this first installment of the Missing in Alaska series, Goddard weaves a gripping mystery set in southeast Alaska. Readers will be eager for the next in the series."--Publishers Weekly

Police Chief Autumn Long is fighting to keep her job in the quiet Alaska town of Shadow Gap when an unexpected string of criminal activity leaves her with a wounded officer, unexplained murders, and an attack on her own father. Despite her mistrust of outsiders, she turns to Grier Brenner, a newcomer who seems to have the skills and training Autumn needs to face this threat to her community.

Grier is in Alaska for the same reason many others are--to disappear--when Chief Long enlists his help. He emerges from the shadows and proves his mettle, but his presence in her life could be a deadly trap for them both. If his secret is exposed, all will be lost. And he's not sure even Autumn could save him.

"The first book in Goddard's Missing in Alaska series will keep readers glued to their seats as the tension escalates."--

4.5 stars This is book one in the Missing in Alaska series, so what a great place to start. This book is full of mystery, intrigue, romance and so much more. I look forward to reading more from this series. We get to know small town Alaska and how many who want to be lost and start over like to go. Like Grier, whom I just fell in love with, finds himself doing things he really should not but just can't help himself. Police Chief Autumn Long is not sure what to do with Grier.

Starting with the prologue until the end of the book, author Elizabeth Goddard had me hooked. The action is non-stop and spellbinding. If you like a plot with lots of twists and turns, Cold Light of Day is the book for you. The main characters, Police Chief Autumn Long and the mysterious Grier Brenner, are likeable characters that I became attached to rather quickly in the story. Having the story set in Alaska added to my enjoyment of the book as I learned more about life there.
