Just finished reading this book after watching the tv series last year and discovered the tv series is based on the books . I use to think the tv series was amazing but after reading this book I now think the book is more amazing than the tv show and I'm so disappointed they didn't follow the proper storylines , plots or characters from the book. This book would be an amazing film if done correctly and followed properly I now feel they have rushed the tv show and not answered all questions I once had. But this book has answered all questions and I have been hooked right from the start I now hope to follow it up with more of the shannara books.

Great characters, great adventure. No amazing plot twists or new-spun ideas, but an enjoyable read nonetheless

I first read this book as a young teenager and have now read it again as an adult. Its still an amazing read, with characters you become entangled with and a plot that means its almost impossible to put down. Can't wait to start on the next one!
