About this ebook

In the unforgiving Yukon territory, Belle Haggerty faces a harsh reality: abandoned by her husband and soon after widowed, she is determined to survive and sets out to find a new husband.

In Dawson City, wealthy miner Seth Kirby is on a routine supply run when Belle's unexpected proposal takes him by surprise. Her strength and determination captivate him. With marriage already on his mind, Seth sees in Belle the chance for companionship and stability. He embraces her offer.

Their tranquil life at Seth's mining claim is abruptly shattered when a sinister presence targets Belle. Fear and tension grip their once-peaceful existence. Seth, fueled by love and determination, must summon every ounce of his strength to protect Belle. But as the danger looms ever closer, will his efforts be enough to shield her from the encroaching menace?

I have read many of this author's novels and found this one of the most enjoyable. Abandoned in Dawson City in the harsh Yukon territory, Belinda has to fend for herself when her husband disappears. Instead of feeling sad when the Mountie informs her that Amos has been killed, Belinda is relieved, knowing that she no longer has to experience his abuse and that she is free to make her own choices.

About the author

Cynthia Woolf is the USA Today Bestselling and award-winning author of eight-one romance novels. Comprised of sixty-six historical western romances, six contemporary romances, two contemporary romance novellas, one historical western romance novella, and six sci-fi space opera romances, which she calls westerns in space. Along with these books, she has also published nine boxed sets of her books and two short stories.

Cynthia loves writing and reading romance. Her first western romance, Tame A Wild Heart, was inspired by the story her mother told her of meeting Cynthia's father on a ranch in Creede, Colorado. Although Tame A Wild Heart takes place in Creede, that is the only similarity between the stories. Her father was a cowboy, not a bounty hunter, and her mother was a nursemaid (called a nanny now), not the ranch owner.

Cynthia credits her wonderfully supportive husband, Jim, and her great critique partners for saving her sanity and allowing her to explore her creativity.
