About this ebook

New translation of The Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka.

Poor Gregor Samsa! This guy wakes up one morning to discover that he's become a "monstrous vermin".

The first pages of The Metamorphosis where Gregor tries to communicate through the bedroom door with his family, who think he’s merely being lazy, is vintage screwball comedy. Indeed, scholars and readers alike have delighted in Kafka’s gallows humor and matter-of-fact handling of the absurd and the terrifying.

But it is one of the most enigmatic stories of all time, with an opening sentence that’s unparalleled in all of literature.

Frank Kafka is a magician of Dark Writing. The way he demonstrate pain and suffering will forever be unmatched. The feeling of being stuck in loop or matrix, represented as 'Kafkaesque' is a mind blowing concept. Gregor Samsa one day woke up from him bed and found himself turned into a huge insect. His family was helpless. They Put Gregor in a basement, trapped for days. Day by Day, we saw Gregor Samsa suffering in his inhuman looking form, but soon we saw his family spirit break. His sister once forgot to give food to Gregor, and after that night, Gregor didn't saw the sun next morning. The story breaks the readers heart, when we read that the family of Gregor felt a little sad, but just a little. like wow, the way frank kafka demonstrated the ignorance of Gregor family stunned me for years. Frank kafka is one of my favourite writers and I would love to see all the readers atleast try one of his books for once. Metamorphosis, The Trial, Letter to my Father are my top 3 favourites.

quite a few grammatical errors and overall not a great flow to the translation.

Great work by Kafka. The translation could be better though.
