I was reluctant to even look at the FREE books but gave it a try. This book parallels early internet with the telegraph being a chat room. The character's physical descriptions are somewhat vague but allows for more emotional bonds with "who" they are. I loved this book. Took me a few chapters to pick up the language style too.

It's the 1800s version of a mixture of When Harry met Sally and You've got mail, yet a pinch of reality. The female protagonist works for a Telegraph company. She meets her co-worker in a distant city via the Telegraph. They quickly become friends. Whenever she goes back to an ugly apartment after work, she is reminded of why she works hard. Yet whenever she gets to work, it's as if she's in an entirely different world, being able to talk with her friend who's many miles away within seconds!Romantic comedy.

I somehow found myself heavily engrossed in this, which doesn't usually happen. I found several things interesting, especially that the base of this story is relevant today (just sub telegraph for internet). It also made me yearn for a time when the world was far less complicated. I'm gonna miss that little girl at Bm.
