Riga Hayworth Mysteries 1-3: A Witch Mystery Collection

Walk in the Footsteps of a Metaphysical Detective I so enjoy this author's paranormal cozy mysteries! I love that they take place in the Sierra Nevada mountains, this series taking place in Lake Tahoe—a place my family often visited when I was a child. It was fun to see references to places in the San Francisco Bay Area, too, where I actually grew up. The eponymous character is a metaphysical detective, a witch whose powers have gone haywire. At the start of the series, she was hoping for just a little R and R, but the sheriff has heard of her reputation and wants a little metaphysical help… or does he want to pin a crime on her? I'll admit that during this global crisis I've been reading fewer mysteries, focusing on lighter and fluffier romance and straightforward nonfiction. But this author's Tea and Tarot series, the first books I read by her, was so enjoyable—with so much humor, fantastic deep characterization, and a smooth, immersive writing style—that hers are some of the few cozy mysteries I still read. I absolutely love Riga, a powerful woman going through a difficult time. This author's books always pull me right in and keep me reading. If you enjoy well-written paranormal cozy mysteries as I do, you will probably enjoy the adventures and misadventures of this metaphysical detective. Riga Hayworth Mysteries 1-3 consists of The Alchemical Detective, The Shamanic Detective, and The Infernal Detective. This collection is a great binge read for fans of paranormal mysteries. I am looking forward to reading more books in this series. I read and reviewed this book with no obligation.
