'Jules Verne' (1828-1905) was a French novelist, poet and playwright. He is considered one of the foremost writers from France and is also sometimes referred to as the Father of Science Fiction. Some of his best known works include 'From the Earth to the Moon', 'Five Weeks in a Balloon', 'Around the World in Eighty Days', '20,000 Leagues Under the Sea'. In his novels one can find elements of geology, biology, astronomy and other closely researched sciences, coupled with adventure and romance.
