I found this write up of Natalie Sudman's NDE (or OBE, since she describes her experience as either or both) to be extraordinary and well beyond the purview of any other NDE accounts I had previously read, including that of Anita Moorjani, which for me had stood at the top among all others until now. Sudman's superlative feat was in her depiction of the fabric of reality from a metaphysical perspective as much as from an experiential one. She not only shows but effectively illustrates the potentially infinite ways that events can unfold or even reassemble themselves differently from the perspective of experience, or of a shifting memory of experience. She depicts an unexpected yet highly likely (to me) concept of amorphous interface between personal and collective realities, not only through her own experiences of interpenetrating realms of consciousness, but also enhanced through helpful analogies that concretize otherwise impossibly ephemeral models of reality. In certain places, the reading might be a tad dry or overly conceptual for those who prefer "more story" in the recounting--although I was riveted throughout. Also, if you find my review encumbering to read, it could provide some sense of Sudman's writing style - if my oblique comparison is not overly presumptuous! Finally, I was surprised at how short the entire text was, at quite a few pages less than the 77 that comprise the whole book, cover to cover - not to mention that each page was about two thirds the length of a standard 250 word page. What it might lack in length, however, seems more than made up for through its density of ideation, depth of experiential awareness, and mind-blowing (to repeat an intentionally bad pun the author used, given her serious head injuries) paradigmatic value. For me, Application of Impossible Things provided a definite shift in cosmological perspective--even to someone fairly familiar with the NDE literature and concepts therein--for which I am left in awe and in gratitude towards the incredible being who shared it with us.

About the author

Natalie Sudman worked as an archeologist in the Great Basin states for sixteen years before accepting a position managing construction contracts in Iraq.  After being injured by a roadside bomb, Natalie retired from government service. She is now enjoying art, writing, and continuing explorations into the non-physical.

Natalie reads and heals psychically, communicates with those who have passed over, and channels non-physical beings. She offers information regarding personal questions as well as addressing broader subjects such as the nature of space, time or reality.

Natalie has a particular interest in the intersections of science and the non-physical. She has been a subject of studies performed by the University of Virginia’s Division of Perceptual Studies, and welcomes invitations to act as a lab rat for any scientific investigation. Describing herself as an open-minded skeptic, Natalie finds that the rigorous methodology of science appeals to her critical mind, while her artistic nature enjoys the expansive freedom of leaving behind the critical mind in frequent forays into the non-physical. She maintains that an irreverent sense of humor and a willingness to look foolish are the cornerstones of constructive exploration.

Raised in Minnesota, Natalie has lived most of her adult life in eastern Oregon, Montana and South Dakota. She recently moved to southern Arizona. Her artwork is available through Davis & Cline Galleries in Ashland Oregon, and her urns will be available online in early 2012 at www.inyantraceartstudio.com

She occasionally blogs at www.traceofelements.wordpress.com
