Amethyst Keane walked up to the quaint inn, loving that it had a private beach. Water soothed her and she inhaled a deep breath. Walking inside, the man at the desk took her breath away! He was gorgeous! She managed to tell him she had a reservation – but forgot to give him her name! She was editor-in-chief and owner of ASK Magazine and may be able to use him in her research for her article, so she flirted back at him. Cooper Marchant offered to show her around town if she wished. He told her the best two places to eat – the only two actually – and was disappointed when she didn’t ask him to join her. But she was tired and needed to rest right now. Cooper thought he was imagining her when Amethyst walked in. She looked very much like someone everyone believed had died many years ago. She was an enigma and he intended to unravel all of her secrets, glad that she would be staying a few weeks. His best friend, Benjamin Anderson walked in to see if he could get away to go on the boat with him. But Cooper was covering for the night shift and was too responsible to shirk his duty. As they talked, Amethyst came downstairs and Ben was dumbstruck. When she left to explore the town, Cooper told Ben to back off since he was pursuing Amethyst. But Ben laughed and said he wanted her and the best man would win! Cooper had a ghost romance tale that he thought would be just the thing to entice Amethyst, the writer! Easton Hill died in this inn and it was said the ghost still walked the halls! Cooper knew Amethyst was interested in Easton and Marianne’s love story, so he allowed Amethyst to see her journal. They sat together on the couch and read the story. Cooper’s great-grandmother was mentioned in the journal and Amethyst realized he had more invested in the story than she had realized. When Amethyst stood and turned around, she almost gasped! She looked at a portrait on the wall, and the woman looked exactly like her! Cooper told her that was Marianne Trenton-Hill! Just as Amethyst felt compelled to follow this story, Cooper admitted he had always been drawn to it and that he would help her find the answers she needed. There were secrets somewhere, intertwined and needing to be unraveled. Would Amethyst and Cooper be able to solve this mystery together? Because if they do, it will change their lives forever! Wow, this intriguing story had a life of its own! The story line raced along faster and faster as more information came to light. The characters were amazing and so real! I think the best word to summarize the final part of the book is “intense”! But somehow it all then came together and was sorted out! Grab your copy of this amazing book – you just might meet a ghost along the way . . .

This is hands down one of the best books I've read in awhile! I love the connection Amethyst and Cooper have from the start. If you like ghost stories and family secrets you will love this book like I do. I can't recommend it enough. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This is a very intriguing story! It's a fairly short and quick read that is fast paced with mystery and good twists. It's a wonderful ghostly tale that definitely keeps you glued until the delightful epilogue. Amethyst and Cooper are drawn together but the mystery brings them further together. I really loved how this story developed. It's a very interesting story and a little bit different from other stories I have read by this author.
