Penyusunan buku ini bertujuan untuk memberikan informasi berbagai macam spesies Sargassum yang tersebar di seluruh dunia, spesies Sargassum di Indonesia, metabolit primer dan sekunder, serta potensi pemanfaatan Sargassum.
