Hired by the Single Dad is book #1 in the new Single Dad's of Seattle series by Whitley Cox, and what a start! Meeting a friend for drinks, Mark Herron overhears a party at the next table, celebrating the impending divorce of one of their members. As a survivor of divorce himself, he can't imagine it being something to celebrate. When he sees the lovely lady in question, he is intrigued. When he learns that she is a therapist for special needs children and is in need of a job, he immediately thinks of his autistic son whose nanny/therapist just quit. Could this woman possibly fill that position? Tori's husband didn't just cheat on her. He took her to the cleaners! When he left, he cleaned out their bank account, and kicked her out of their home. She put him through dental school, working three jobs to accomplish it, and this is how he repays her. Not only did he take everything, he also stole her dream of going back to school for her master's degree when he stole the money set aside for her education. All she wants is a job so she can build up her savings. No man, no love, just independence. Meeting Mark Herron at her divorce "celebration" seems like fate stepping in. If the job is legit, she'll knock it out of the park. As Tori works with Mark's son, she quickly falls in love with the boy, and the dad isn't far behind. Is being Hired by the Single Dad the best thing that's happened to her, or will it turn out to be a mistake of epic proportions? I loved many things about this story. I loved how focused both Tori and Mark were on making sure Gabe was comfortable with Tori as his teacher, before they ever took their relationship further. Some of the language was pretty rough, but it was mostly when a. the women were drunk, or b. the men's group was meeting. There was plenty of steam for readers who enjoy that, and I liked that these two seemed to genuinely respect each other. I received a complimentary copy of the book from the author via Voracious Readers Only, but every opinion here is MINE!

I absolutely want to read the rest of the books in the series because this one was amazing. And I definitely recommend reading this steamy romance.
