About this eBook

HTML5: Everyone’s using it, nobody knows what it is. I realize that sounds more like a line out of an existential movie — maybe Waiting for Godot or a screenplay by Sartre — than a statement about HTML5. But it’s really the truth: most of the people using HTML5 are treating it as HTML4+, or even worse, HTML4 (and some stuff they don’t use). The result? A real delay in the paradigm shift that HTML5 is almost certain to bring. It’s certainly not time to look away, because by the time you look back, you may have missed something really important: a subtle but important transition centered around HTML5.

this is to people who were charged for this book. The Rs.50 that you all were charged was not by the book but was by google itself to check whether your bank account is a valid one. This I think is refundable. And regarding the book asking for credit card even though its free, might be a bug. I will notify google about it. I haven't read this book yet but just thought to help out the people in this misunderstanding. Cheers :)

The Rs. 50 charge placed on details of CC's input is an authentication charge levied by Google. It reverses he charge and your money is refunded to the payment source (provided CC). Quite a basic coverage of HTML 5 as a markup as well as web-structure language. Needs in-depth explanations and details. Use cases are not covered making it a beginners-only reference. Advanced site-building fundamentals and concepts have not been included making this book obsolete to advanced web developers. Could have been illustrated and integrated to cover relevant and related processors such as CSS and Javascript. Please consider making necessary additions. As of now, this book is only a simple introduction that includes a few code snippets and illustrations. Could be more comprehensive and certainly more definitive. Hope this helps. Cheers.

I gave 4 stars simply for it being offered for free, and I need to move using HTML5 instead of XHTML3, and simple guide is good to start with. Now I hope others flag as SPAM the comments of trolls who claim they lost money, yet got nothing, and tell us not to get this.
