A creepy old manor, spine-chilling supernatural rumors, and a murderer stalking the shadows…

Roped into visiting the infamous Dead and Breakfast, a spooky horror-themed vacation spot, Patricia McKay is expecting a stay filled with excitement and a few good scares. But after a vicious snowstorm descends and traps the guests inside, her visit begins to take a far more sinister turn.

Stuck in a spooky old manor and sleeping in the very same room where a gruesome murder took place years ago, the horrors of the past rear their heads when a new dead body is discovered. Patricia soon finds herself caught up in a deadly murder mystery. With nobody to rely on but her strange host, she must unravel the clues and unmask the killer lurking in the shadowy halls – before it’s too late.

But in the creaky old Dead and Breakfast, the rabbit hole goes deep. As she tumbles further into her investigation, Patricia must sleep with one eye open. With a murderer afoot, ghost stories are the least of her worries…

I liked this story because the characters were fun. I loved Patricia and her boss Edna. I loved the storyline. It was intriguing. It sounded spooky and very quirky. Poor Patricia having to go to Ohio in the midst of freezing winter and ends up staying in a place with a murder. The so called Dead and Breakfast is hardly a substitute for the planned writing project in Poland - especially given the creepy ambiance and the unpleasant folks staying there - and the superstorm trapping them all with the mysteries and the deadly dangers. Patricia really does need a new income stream - and some more time with her cop beau. Unraveling secret passages, hidden treasures and a bevy of corrupt and lethal characters is write up her alley - so to speak - if Patricia can survive. A creative blend of faith, off beat friendships and love, and whodunnit. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Good Mystery . . . Patricia McCay is a travel writer whose boss sent her to the “cursed” Dead and Breakfast for a story. It was already snowing when she got the assignment. This place was a horror-themed bed and breakfast vacation spot. By the time she arrives, the guests get snowed in by the blizzard and the owner’s niece is murdered. Will Patricia figure out who the murderer is? Or will she become one of the horror stories the B&B is known for?
