The writing from the childrens' point of view seems very well done to me. The main issue I had was that this childlike writing was not contained to the sections about the children, and therefore at times caused sections with Luke, Han, Leia, etc to feel amateurish and unnatural. Despite this, the overall theme of the story is pretty cohesive and maintains good continuity throughout, including some good use of foreshadowing. Overall recommend, though I'm not sure how relevant the events of this book are to the larger Legends continuity if that's what you're looking for.

I read 'The Crystal Star' in paper form.Star Wars is good subject. The storyline for many readers is a challenge to follow.A unkept promise for a stronger connection in "The Force",results in the death of one wanting more power.Even if it means making captives out of children&adults both from various worlds. The Crystal Star is a star that is unstable and ready to explode. Here is what i found interesting 'Wyrwolf'&'Cintaur' amongst the human population of prisoners. If you like Star Wars give this TITLE a try
