This story was difficult to get through for me. I had a hard time relating to the FMC, and I absolutely despised the MMC throughout the entire book. There was no development of the characters, and while the MMC was certainly an alphahole, he was not the type that makes me understand his side or want to see him redeemed. I didn't know going into this that it would be a cliffhanger, but with the amount I struggled to finish I will not be grabbing the 2nd book to see what happens next. Even the 🌶 was unfulfilling, and almost bordered on assault more than CNC. Overall for my 1st book by this author, I was not impressed.

This book kicks off this new series with a complex tangle of juicy drama, avarice, sibling rivalry, toxic family relationships, steam and plenty of twists. I must admit that I mm left totally unsure of my exact feelings about the main characters (because trust me, it's complicated!), however there is no denying that this tension filled read left me craving more. I'm eager to see what happens in book two. This is my volitional, forthright review.

Cliffhanger ahead! Talia has definitely hit a rough patch. Her financial situation is tight, becoming tighter every moment. Add to that she is unexpectedly pregnant. A solution comes from an unlikely source, when Dare makes an outrageous proposition that could potentially benefit both of them. I am engrossed by this story, with a pairing of two individuals who are as different as chalk and cheese. It will be interesting seeing Talia and Dare grow together and individually.
