Viet Thanh Nguyen insegna English and American Studies and Ethnicity alla University of Southern California. È autore di Race and Resistance: Literature and Politics in Asian America (Oxford University Press, 2002). Il simpatizzante (Neri Pozza, 2016), il suo primo romanzo, ha vinto il Premio Pulitzer 2016. Con Neri Pozza ha pubblicato I rifugiati (2017).
