Victoria Memorial

Victoria Memorial is an icon of Kolkata of West Bengal in India. It was constructed during the British Rule by the then Vice Roy Lord Curzon in the memory of Queen Victoria who passed away in the year 1901.
To commemorate her memory this beautiful monument was built in the heart of the city within a very large area near Maidan - a popular place of Kolkata city.
It is made up of white marble brought from Makrana of Rajasthan. It was started in the year 1906 and completed in 1920, thus nearly 14 years took for its marvellous construction.
Sir William Emerson designed its construction and M/S Martin & Co â a highly reputed civil contractor constructed it.

Co- Editor of Aasha Annual Magazine of Lions Club Of Gobindpur.
Worked in different responsible positions and retired as Finance Manager from Central Hospital, B.C.C.L., Dhanbad on 30th. April 2006.
Presently Advocate in Dhanbad Court, Trustee- Lions Club SSMS Eye Hospital, Gobindpur, Dhanbad, Director- Lions Club, Gobindpur, Executive Member of SSMS Eye Hospital, Gobindpur, Member- Nagrik Samiti, Â Gobindpur.
Composition: Nearly 50 satire published in the Dainik Jagran, Dhanbad. Many stories published in the local News Papers. More than one hundred short stories duly published in â yourstoryclub.comâ during the period of last 2/3 years on different topics including the short love and romance stories.
Exclusive Experience of teaching English: The author has got the long teaching experience of teaching English to his wards, students and teachers since 1959 â when he was merely a student of class X of High School, Gobindpur, Dhanbad. He served as Assistant teacher (English) in Gobindpur High School from 1964 to 1967. He is still a very good English teacher and spares his valuable time to teach the needy wards and students of his neighbourhood and nearby places. Â Â
