Victor Acosta was born in 1977 in the small town of Salcedo in the Dominican Republic at 11 years old, he moved with his parents to the Bronx, New York, in the late 1980s, setting off a life-changing event. His literary works now feature a distinctive fusion of urban experiences and cultural depth, which was made possible by this relocation. Drawing inspiration from his grandparents' fascinating life story, Acosta honors their lasting legacy in "Shadows Beneath the Shore."

Having grown up in the vivid streets of the Bronx, Acosta expertly crafts a story that speaks to the memories of his own background, bringing realism to each and every page of this gripping book. His skill with storytelling draws readers in and takes them on an engrossing voyage that reflects the resiliency, aspirations, and complexity of characters with roots in both the Caribbean and New York's metropolitan settings.
