This book takes place in the perspectives of three humans in the Wings of Fire universe in the time of Books 1 through 5. Two characters, Wren and Leaf, were both very interesting and fun to read about. The third protagonist, Ivy, took a while to become interesting though, and she's the reason that this is a four star instead of a five star review. She became very interesting and fun to read about, but it just look a while, and I found myself a little disappointed when I reached a chapter about her, as the chapters cycle between the protagonists. She just couldn't initially match how creatively written the other two protagonists were. I appreciate how (initially) different Wren and Leaf were without making one seem bad for having a different view of dragons. All the characters felt real, and I emotionally care about them. Characterization was, for the most part, on point. I'm disappointed that this is just a Legends book, as it should have become its own series!

Tui, please please take your time with this book and spend some time thinking about what you write. I don't want you to rush things and jeopardize the quality of the book. I also would hate for you to write something that could potentially be problematic, and I know that isn't the kind of person you are, you just sometimes don't think everything through. Best of luck from one of your fans!
